Dr Jennifer Robinson
Veterinarian (DE, AUS)
Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (IVAS)
Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine (IVAS)
Medicinal Cannabis Consultant
Dr. Jen grew up in a small village in rural Germany, where she learned how to use herbal remedies to help both animals and people from a young age.
She graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover in 2013 and completed an internship at Southpaws Specialty Surgery for Animals in Melbourne, where she focused on surgery, oncology, and internal medicine. Dr. Jen then spent several years working in general practice, and during that time developed a deep interest in integrative and geriatric medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr Jen often found that conventional Western medicine wasn't always enough to help her patients getting back to optimal health. Over the coming years, she completed her certifications in Veterinary Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and the College of Integrative Veterinary Medicine (CIVT). She also undertook several courses geriatric and palliative care, as well as canine rehabilitation.
After legislative changes in 2017, Dr Jen became one of the first veterinarians in Australia to prescribe compounded medicinal cannabis to her patients. Since then, Dr Jen has gained extensive experience treating a variety of conditions.
In 2016, Dr Jen opened her own practice, which has grown significantly and now receives referrals from many veterinary professionals across Melbourne looking for specialised care for their patients. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of integrative geriatric and palliative care, including the use of medicinal cannabis, with other veterinarians.
When she is not caring for her patients, Dr. Jen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons, and their whippet Marlou, engaging in activities like camping, hiking, and exploring nature. She also has a profound passion for gardening and volunteers at the local school garden, where she teaches children how to grow and use vegetables and herbs.
